Okay, this might just be my perspective but, I’m African and granted that Holly is African-American some aspects can still carry over as they do with all cultures. In my culture, almost any man or woman who is significantly older is referred to as Auntie or Uncle as a form of respect. This also enables them to majority of rights that my parents, from forms of congratulations to strong reprimands, the field is theirs. So they could tell me to stop crying, the same way that they could clean my fingers if I scrap them in an accident. As the saying goes,”It takes a village to raise a child”, it applies just as well here. The village is the Dance Moms family and the children are all the girls.
